The Interuniversity Postgraduate Program in Economics (PTCI - Economics) is a program of the Conference of Educational, Economic and Management Research Institutions in Africa (CIEREA). The PTCI-Economics is a center of excellence that aims to promote the training of high-level economists, internationally competitive and directly operational. From its headquarters in Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso), PTCI-Economics runs a network of several Faculties of Economics and Management (FASEG) and Training and Research Units in Economics and Management (UFR / SEG ) in French-speaking Sub-Saharan countries concerned with the problems of economic development of skills in Africa.
The creation of the Conference of Educational Institutions and Economic and Management Research in Africa (CIEREA) in 1986 (from February 11 to 14), was undertaken to achieve the integration of training and research institutions. The CIEREA is an international nongovernmental organization bringing together faculty and research centers in economics from 18 francophone African countries south of Sahara (Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Central Africa, Congo, Ivory Coast, Gabon, Guinea, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Senegal, Chad, Togo). Its implementation was to ensure better development of the Teaching and Research in Economics and Management in Africa.
